What is it like to be a guest at Abbey Way?
Imagine being invited to a friend’s house for dinner. Your friend called and invited you, or perhaps you called them to say, “You know, we should really get together. I’d like to see you.” Either way, you made contact and arranged a date, allowing them to prepare a place for you.
Perhaps when you arrived at your friend’s home for dinner they greeted you as a host does – taking your coat and showing you around. But as they made last minute preparations for your meal together you offered to help toss the salad or set the table.
Just as you would enjoy being in your friend’s home and experiencing their hospitality, learning a little about how they live; it is our hope that you would have a similar experience at Abbey Way. On Sunday evenings we open with prayer, share a simple meal, worship together, and close our evening with dessert. All the while we are connecting with God we are also serving each other. We encourage you to come and experience the Life of Christ in our way of being a community seeking after God.
At Abbey Way we welcome you by making time in the life of our community to include you and authentically extend ourselves to you. We value the intentional relational connection as part of the way we walk out our lives with each other and potential new friends. This is why we ask you to let us know you would like to visit us so we are ready to receive you when you come.
One other thing you should know as a guest of Abbey Way – we value a slow entrance into commitment to Abbey Way. Meaning that we feel becoming part of our community is a process of discernment that takes time. Our hope is that experiencing Abbey Way will give you the opportunity to pause and consider where God is leading you in your journey with Him. We ask that you would prayerfully consider God’s leading and let us know if you would like to come again as our guest.
Here is more information about our Sunday rhythm and schedule.
Please email us if you would like to visit!
Blessings, until we see you…
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you
Wherever He may send you
May He guide you through the wilderness
Protect you through the storm
May He bring you home rejoicing
At the wonders He has shown you
May He bring you home rejoicing
Once again into our doors.
